So Today I just defended (and passed!) my MS thesis :D and after have a nice lunch and a beer with my awesome boyfriend to celebrate I took a much needed nap. The following dream is a product of that nap.
I was watching this part of the dream as an outsider. 3 cartoony robots were in a space ship traveling somewhere. They reminded me of the x-men. I was under the impression that they were supposed to mimic personalities of people, one of which was professor X from the x-men. They wanted to try and be humans so they all put on these really stupid masks.
The masks were long and thin, like a paper mask little kids cut out of construction paper and strap to their faces. These masks has a very detailed picture of a human face on them.
The robots then started turning into these humanoid cartoon/not cartoon creatures. I was not watching from the perspective of one of the things in my dream. These beings were sort of born/programmed. I was a girl one with a husband or boyfriend. He wasn't into the whole idea of having a partner and has this plan to reprogram me. I wanted to be nice and earn his robot affection. As he was trying to reprogram me I offered to do some tasks for him and I think he eventually warmed up.
There was lots of other activity going on too. We were in a big building full of robot people things. One of them was Nicholas Cage and he has shape shifted into an elephant because he was sad.
There was a trophy of some sort in the room with the elephant that I was looking at, considering using it as a basis for one that I was going to make to give it to my robot man. The the actor (Paul Gimani?) who was the human-salesman from planet of the apes was pretty much being the same character but as a robot person told me he stole ideas all of the time from that trophy. When you stole an idea it actually altered the piece.
At one point I was in a really long hallway and a few other "people" needed to go attack something so they turned some non robot, run of the mill household stuff, into big cartoon Macy Thanksgiving Day Parade balloons. They didn't have strings and they were autonomous. Tons of balloon people were floating down the hallway.
