I was in a car with a priest. We were talking about something, it felt very urgent; the dream almost had a doomsday quality to it. I told him I might need to check out the basement of the church. He replied that he might have to check out the basement of the church too.
In the basement there were characters, Chinese or some other character based language, on the wall that were supposed to have some religious significance. The priest said he might have to look at those characters too. We were looking at a collection of glass panes. They were textured and covered in religious drawings. I was under the impression that the drawings were supposed to move or change but the majority of them were still. The priest and I felt that it was a bad sign.
He or another priest gave a sermon. Some of the words in his speech were lyrics from on of my favorite (yet obscure) songs. I wanted to play the song for him so he could hear the similarities. In order to play the song I had to take a check out of a checkbook and slide it into some device. The device looked liked a grinding wheel with a plastic cover over it. I was supposed to insert the check between the wheel and the plastic cover. I was having a hard time because the check had become wet and dirty. Part of it had also been ripped before someone eventually helped me insert the check into the machine.
The priest was amazed at how similar the song was to his sermon. Before I could say anything else to him he walked into a near by buffet restaurant. I followed him in after a few minutes. I passed by a lot of people as well as a giant larva in a baby carrier.
