I don't consider many of my dreams to be 'scary dreams'. My dreams are usually pretty goofy, at least I think so. There are two scary dreams that have stuck with me for years that I would like to share.
1) I was sitting in my dad's computer room in the basement of our house with the door open. There was a mannequin standing outside of the door. All of a sudden the mannequin just disappeared. I was then laying in my bed with my eyes open (the same way I was actually laying in bed with the exception of the open eyes). The mannequin reappeared right next to my bed.
I was sufficiently freaked out enough to wake up and check that there was no such mannequin in my room. I haven't been able to trust one since...
2) I can't remember the details of the dream but what I do remember was that the world was overrun by maggots. You couldn't actually see any unless you opened something, for example, the hood of a car. When it was open you could see them all up in the car's business being gross. There was also this feeling that they were inside of the people too.
It was pretty disgusting. I'm not a fan of bugs so this dream freaked me out pretty badly.
