It has become apparent over the years that I don't just have unusual dreams in my sleep. When I was much younger I used to sleep walk all over my house. My dad who is a light sleeper said he would hear me wandering around and would have to find me and bring me back to my room. I haven't sleep walked in a long long time but I have been known to sleep talk.
A few sleep talking examples that I can remember being told of:
1) I was on vacation, many many years ago, with my family so we were all sharing a room. My mom, who I was sharing the bed with, said in the middle of the night I sat up and said "It goes around and around..." and then laid back down.
2) My freshman year of college my roommate said I scared the crap out of here when I did this example. I had gone to bed and she was working at her computer. She said that all of a sudden I yelled "It's not fair!" and slammed my hands down on the bed.
I'm not the only one of us who did some sleep talking that year. One morning I came back to our room at 6am back from a late night of hanging out with some friends. When I walked in she leaned over her bed and beckoned to me like she had a question. She told me she was the captain of one of the fraternities volleyball team and then proceeded to tell me about her night the night before. When I told her about this later she didn't remember talking to me. She was also not actually the captain of any volleyball team...
3) Junior year I did quiet a bit of sleep talking to my roommate. One event in particular stands out in my mind. She had been up late on her computer after I was in bed. Our beds were parallel to each other and she had been in hers. She said I hung over the side of the bed and started 'petting' something, like if there was a dog laying on the floor next to my bed. While that was happening I said to my imaginary sleep dog "There you are!"
