Two other people and I managed to get ourselves into space and onto a ship using what looked like my car key. We would point them into the night sky and press the button a few times. It would 'activate' some sort of gravitational force that would pull us to our destination. We were not in a space craft nor were we in space suits, we just traveled as we were.
The ship was not a space ship but a pirate style wooden sailing vessel. We were in a room on the ship that looked like a regular indoor bar. There were a bunch of people chatting and hanging out when we were attacked by a giant octopus. We could see its eye up against the glass of the window. It was bigger then the window so we only saw part of it. It would grab the ship and shake it. We were all knocked down and as it continued to jolt the ship we tried hard to keep out balance. At one point I remember seeing it crush the mast and the crow's nest with its tentacles.
To defeat it my car key toting travel companions and pointed out keys at it's eye through the window and emitted some sort of force that caused a painful jolt. It backed off in surprised so I started attacking it with my magical powers. I pointed my fingers at it and issued more pain. It retreated and was chased by a monkey. Someone mentioned that this was how Planet of the Apes was probably started. We used our car keys to take us to another location.
